Som’s journey began amidst the cultural richness of West Bengal, India. From his formative days at Calcutta University to his transformative experience at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, where he earned a PG Diploma in Acting under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Som’s passion for the stage knew no bounds.

Now a prominent figure in Mumbai’s thriving entertainment industry, Som seamlessly navigates between roles in theater and film, captivating audiences with his depth and versatility. Guided by luminaries such as Anuradha Kapoor, Shyam Benegal, Prasanna, Shantanu Bose, Amit Banerjee, Chittaranjan Tripathi, Sauti Chakraborty, Abhilash Pillai, and others, he has honed his craft to perfection.

From his notable performances in Bengali films like “Master Anshuman” based on a story by Satyajit Ray and “Mujib: The Making of a Nation,” directed by Shyam Benegal, to his portrayal of Sahir Ludhiyanvi in the Sufiscors album “Lafz Bheege Hain,” featuring Prachi Desai as Amrita Pritam and directed by Parasar Barua, Som’s talent shines through in every endeavor.

But Som’s influence extends far beyond the spotlight. As an actor trainer, he has mentored over 1,000 students and directed acclaimed productions like “The Red Lady.” His commitment to nurturing talent led him to establish The Acting Clinic in Mumbai, providing aspiring actors with a platform to realize their dreams.

Ever the innovator, Som embraces social media as a tool for education, offering free tutorials in acting to a global audience. With his charisma, talent, and unwavering dedication to the craft, Som continues to captivate audiences and inspire the next generation of performers.
